Such a creative idea Casey! I do have a few thoughts. I wish Seth’s face was sharper (since he’s in so much of the shot) instead of just the apple. That would also help improve the saturation of the colors; really bring out that red in the apple and the blue book cover. I know how sweet he must have been to stand still and pose for you. It would be have been cute too even to just have him look up at the stuff on his head, give a little smirk. Just a thought =) I love the ideas you’ve come up with and I am excited to see how you have grown as a photog!

Casey, I love this concept! I wish I would have thought of it!! The crookedness of the book is a little distracting. I would like to see it flat with his face totally straight on, and then the whole thing cropped in a bit. As far as the sharpness that Jenolyn mentioned, a lot of this could be solved by using a smaller Aperature. If you shot at f 4 or higher you’d be more likely to get more of the subject sharp, because I do like how the apple is sharp. I think the apple, book and child’s face should be sharp. I am wondering how it would look with it cropped in just below his eyes. Also if you increase your shutter speed, it’s is easier to get a sharp image. So if you were shooting in the same lighting, all you’d have to do is increase your ISO to 400 or so and then your aperture and shutter speed as stated. Okay so this is the world’s longest comment, but it’s cause I LOVE this shot and think it could be even better! If you want to re-do it, we can post a before and after… up to you :)

Jenolyn, I agree. I think that would improve the picture. Thanks for your thoughts! Yes, it was really hard to get that book to stay on his head, what with how clumsy he is, he probably has so many lumps!
Addie-I think I will try to do this again! Thanks for your input!
